ICCE’s Cultural Immersion Programs are the premier educational & exploration exchange programs. Through short-term visits to the United States, current college students and/or young professionals from all over the world will experience America firsthand and cultivate the understanding of American culture, society, and people.
R.E.A.C.H
R.E.A.C.H. (Research and Explore American Culture, and broaden your Horizons!) is one of our Cultural Immersion Programs designed to help international students gain firsthand understanding of American culture and society through business English education, research and group discussion, volunteering, and exploring California’s most popular cities.
Program Highlights & Features
- 4-day business English class hosted by one of top universities in Los Angeles, California
- Amazing excursions to four major California cities: Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and San Francisco
- Learn American tradition and society through field research trips
- Opportunity to interact with American students through group discussion activities
- Upon successful completion of R.E.A.C.H., participants will receive certificates from ICCE and the university.

Requirements
R.E.A.C.H. Program applicants must be foreign nationals:
- Who are 18 years old or older;
- Who are students enrolled in and actively pursuing a degree OR other full-time course of study at an accredited, classroom-based, post-secondary educational institution outside the United States;
- Who have successfully completed at least one semester or equivalent of post-secondary academic study;
- Who have an above intermediate level of English conversational skills;
- Who are eligible to apply for a U.S. B1/B2 visa.
Volunteering in USA
Our Volunteering Program in the U.S. is aimed at international participants who wish to enhance their knowledge about American life and communities through volunteering activities and living with American host families.
Program Highlights & Features
- Collaborate with locals at a nearby U.S. non-profit organization for about 25~30 hours a week (unpaid)
- Live with a host family and learn about their unique daily experiences from cooking American food to being involved in a U.S. household
- Advance your English skills
- Learn the spirit of volunteering while lending a helping hand to those in need
- Everyday interaction with native English-speakers
- Explore major U.S. cities and attractions, and travel America independently

Program Components
Living with an American host family
You will:
- live with a host family who are happy to share their way of life with you;
- gain insight into U.S. culture while improving English language skills in daily communications;
- learn American lifestyle by assisting with house errands and helpful activities such as cooking, doing laundry, and having mealtimes and social time together;
- have an opportunity to make lifelong friendships with your host family.
Your host families will:
- welcome you in their home as their family member and help you acclimate to an American life and English-speaking environment;
- provide at least two meals a day during week days and three meals during weekends or holidays;
- provide a private bed and/or bedroom and share their common areas such as bathroom, living room, and kitchen;
- arrange safe transportation to/from your volunteering or activity site.
Volunteering in a local non-profit organization
You will:
- obtain the satisfaction of making a difference in the American community and country;
- be able to advance your careers while helping others in need;
- have opportunities to make new friends and strengthen your ties to the American community and build strong relationships with people with common interests;
- have the ability to practice your English and develop social skills in a professional setting.
Your non-profit organization will:
- provide 25 ~ 30 hours per week of volunteering tasks in a safe working environment;
- provide the chance for you to observe American business practices, connect with local communities, and meet new people to expand your cultural network;
- help you improve your English conversational skills.
