The 3rd Annual J Day Celebration — Eat. Play. Give.
Monday, August 7, marks J Day, which is the annual nationwide event celebrating international exchange and raising awareness for the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program. On this day, J-designated visa sponsors gather exchange visitors of all nationalities and cultures together to bring widespread attention to the importance of learning from different cultures. To learn more about J Day, you can visit Alliance for International Exchange’s website at http://www.alliance-exchange.org/CelebrateJDay.
What better way is there to recognize J Day’s theme “eat, play, give” than to give back to the community? To reach our goal, ICCE has partnered with a local non-profit organization, L.A. Kitchen, who has been very gracious to help us pay it forward during their food preparation event on Saturday, August 5. Participants in L.A. will join us on that day to do community service and help feed our fellow Los Angelenos across the city.
After our community service, we will continue the day at the newly restored L.A. Historic Park to get to know each other through food, drinks, and of course…fun games!
This will be an awesome opportunity for J-1 participants located in the greater Los Angeles area to meet one another and share how their experience in America so far has been helping them expand their horizons, grow their future career paths, and create new friendships. Make sure you RSVP today to secure a spot. See you on August 5th!
